The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas) is primarily engaged in the production, distribution, marketing and sales of gas, water supply with headquarters in Hong Kong, China. Moreover, it engages in property development projects, owning a 15 per cent share in the International Finance Centre and a 50 per cent share in Grand Promenade, both in Hong Kong and the Grand Waterfront. The company is one of the oldest listed companies in the territory, with 2,495 employees as of 2020. The Hong Kong and China Gas Ltd. operates through four segments: Gas, Related Businesses, Water, New Energy, and Property. Furthermore, it manufactures and sells home appliances, kitchen furnishings, and household goods. The Hong Kong and China Gas and State Power Investment Corp (SPIC) are co-hosting the 1st international innovation competition, TERA-Award. The top prize will be US 1M and the possibility for application scenarios for winning projects. TERA-Award aims to help address global environmental issues and attain China's dual carbon goals to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.
